Loftus Ward Update |
||
|
During the month of October, Loftus ward received 53 reports of crime and 14 reports of Anti-Social Behaviour. The anti-social behaviour incidents consist of 1 youth related incidents, 1 adult altercation, 3 neighbour disputes and 8 off road bikes. The incidents of crime are isolated events and there are no repeat patterns or trends emerging. Each youth related anti-social behaviour incident is followed up and if youths responsible are identified their home addresses are visited and they are spoken to in the presence of their parents / guardians. Anti-social behaviour notices are then issued (AS13). This notice is issued by Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council’s Anti-Social Behaviour Officer. If a youth is identified as being responsible for anti-social behaviour on a regular basis over a 6 month period, matters will be escalated to Acceptable Behaviour Agreements, or court injunctions which will include greater sanctions. Youth related ASB remains a priority for Loftus and Duncan Place / Coronation Park, Temperance Square, High Row, Deepdale and Cowscote Crescent are regularly patrolled due to recent reports. In recent weeks my colleagues and I have received an increase in reports of off road motorcycles. We have also witnessed it ourselves. We will not chase these motorbikes due to the risks to the rider and wider public, but we will follow up every report. These motorbikes are stored within residential areas. If you see an off road bike coming and going from a particular address, let us know. Legislation gives us 24hours to attend the address and seize the machine. This is a priority, and further work will take place to problem solve this issue, including patrols and attention given to the area of land at the rear of Loftus Leisure Centre and Liverton Mines. Other incidents of note during the month involve 2 males being attacked by a dog within a residential property on West Rd, both received medical assistance. 1 male has been arrested and bailed, the dog has been seized by Police and the investigation is ongoing. A warrant was executed at a property in Liverton Mines. 1 male was arrested for being Concerned in the Supply of Class B drugs. | ||
